Steamboat Springs Farmers Market

Where? Yampa Street

The Steamboat Springs Farmers Market takes place on Saturdays between June 8th through September 21st during the 2024 season. The market is presented by F.M. Light & Sons and is set up along Yampa Street between 5th and 8th Streets. Visitors can swing by between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM to visit the 150 vendors who are offering the freshest goods around town. Whether you’re shopping for protein, specialty sauces, or homemade desserts — the Main Street Farmers Market has a bit of everything. Vendors include local artisans and entrepreneurs, as well as farmers and growers who are dedicated to fueling the local region with the highest quality foods. Many vendors are from right here in Steamboat Springs, though some make the trip in from Palisade or the front range to help round out the robust selection.

Yampa Valley Foods

Where? 743 Oak Street

Formerly known as CAA Market, Valley Foods is your source of fresh, local, and sustainable goods. The organization fosters connections between local producers and the surrounding community, resulting in a bustling local agriculture industry. Yampa Valley Foods has a year-round selection of beef, pork, lamb, chicken, eggs, honey, cheese, and seasonal fruits and veggies. Producers include Bears Ears Ranch, Elk River Custom Meats, and Herbivore’s Kitchen. Become a member of Yampa Valley Foods to take advantage of exclusive benefits and to support the mission of the org. Market Member subscriptions are priced at $35 per year and provide access to a member discount, as well as invites to member-only events and in-store promotions. A membership isn’t required to shop and patrons can purchase their goods using cash, checks, credit cards, and even Apple Pay at pickup.

Walnut Street Market

In previous years, this market has been referred to as the Hayden Farmers Market. For the 2024 season, the market is scheduled every Thursday evening from June 6th through August 8th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Patrons will find an array of small businesses gathered into one convenient space, as well as local producers and farmers selling meat, eggs, plants, produce, cottage foods, and more. Stock up on everything you’ll need for the week and feel good about putting fresh produce on the table for your family while supporting local producers. Vendors include Hayden Fresh Farm, Mountain Bluebird Farm, and more nearby Yampa Valley farms. The market will also feature food trucks so you can grab a bite to eat while you shop.

Home Ranch

This thriving farm is on a mission to sustainably provide for the North Routt community at an altitude of over 7,000 feet — which is no small task! The complex features beautiful gardens, alpine greenhouses, and orchards. The public can purchase fresh produce from the farm stand at the Clark Store from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesdays beginning in June, as well as the Steamboat Farmer’s Market. The farm offers seasonal fruits and veggies, as well as farm-fresh eggs and beef. Everything is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so arrive early to take advantage of the best selection. Mountain Bluebird Farm

Mountain Bluebird Farm provides organically grown Yampa Valley produce in nearby Hayden, Colorado. The farm utilizes no-till practices and sells its produce at the Steamboat Farmer’s Market, the Vail Farmers Market, the Walnut Street Market, and a number of local restaurants in Steamboat Springs. Locals who want to shop at Mountain Bluebird Farm can join the CSA, which stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Effectively, consumers can buy a share of the farm and receive a weekly box of fresh produce. You can also go the market credit route, where veggie lovers buy a $50 credit for the farmer’s market and receive $55 to spend. Likewise, $100 equates to $110. Check out the farm stand inside of the red-roofed barn near Butcherknife Creek. Pick up organically grown produce, as well as freshly baked goods, flowers, condiments, preserves, herb blends, and teas. The stand is open between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Tuesdays between July 2nd and October 15th. You can also find Elkstone Farm produce at Yampa Valley Foods, Elevated Olive, and Ohana in Steamboat Springs. Mystic Hills Farmstead

Mystic Hills Farmstead is nestled between Steamboat Springs and Clark, encompassing over 630 acres of beautiful meadows, irrigated pastures, and native forest land. The farm raises sheep and lowline cattle, who thrive on 100% grass-fed and finished diets across a diverse landscape. Farmstead products include a Best of Lamb box, featuring one bone-in leg of lamb and three racks of lamb, and a Classic Beef Box, which includes one beef arm roast, three packages of ground beef, three packages of short ribs, and two sirloin steaks. Mystic Hills also raises a small flock of chickens and ducks, so they have eggs and limited quantities of whole chickens available for purchase each year. There is also a small, yet diverse vegetable selection to choose from — including lettuce, spinach, collards, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, potatoes, and more. Sales are made directly from the farm store or via Yampa Valley Foods.
