As 2016 comes to an end, we are flooded with media about what this year entailed and the things we hope for in 2017. For Colorado Group Realty, 2016 was a year of growth and innovation; it was a year to remember and a year that we would like to share with all of you. Here are the top 10 moments of 2016 for Colorado Group Realty:
1. The Remodel
If you haven’t stopped by our office in the past six months, you truly are missing out on a hidden gem in downtown Steamboat Springs. In the spring, Broker/Owners Tom and Marci Valicenti took it upon themselves to begin the long anticipated “office remodel”. Through dust, nails and paint, the two came together to produce a one-of-a-kind environment that exemplifies the professionalism that you can expect from Colorado Group Realty.

2. Parade of Homes
For this year’s 10th annual Colorado Group Realty Parade of Homes, we chose STARS to be the beneficiary. Through ticket sales, sponsorships and contributions from the company, $10,000 was donated, more than double the initial fundraising goal. The Parade of Homes is scheduled during the weekend of the Steamboat Wine Festival to ensure maximum attendance. The Parade showcases a wide range of unique homes throughout the Yampa Valley and named a Dakota Ridge home, remodeled by Ian Wagner and Cary Hamilton, as the 2016 Routt County Home of the year.

3. Steve Goldman
2016 was a year for change; one of those changes being a new leader for Colorado Group Realty. Steve Goldman was hired as CEO in late May to replace outgoing 11-year CEO Bart Kounovsky. Through Steve’s vision, he has influenced the agents to adapt a better company culture, find a vision and give back more to the community through our Charitable Foundation. We look forward to continuing to grow under Steve’s leadership.

4. Charitable Foundation
The Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation was set up in 2006 with a vision to support non-profit organizations in Routt County. Since June, we were able to volunteer our time and help out financially for ten different non-profits in Routt County.

5. Bella Vista
Colorado Group Realty Broker/Owner Chris Paoli represented both the listing and selling side for the sale of the unique Bella Vista Estate in 2016. The estate is a popular multi-family rental event destination and family retreat on Rabbit Ears Pass in Steamboat Springs. The six-acre property overlooks Lake Catamount and includes three buildings with a total of 14 bedrooms, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and other amenities. The Bella Vista Estate property has a rich history and was purchased in the 1960s by the late Bob Adams, a prominent figure in Routt County’s history.

6. 158 People Moved
In case you weren’t aware, Colorado Group Realty has a moving truck! The moving truck is available to non-profits in Routt County and any client of agents at Colorado Group Realty. In 2016, we helped 158 people move around Routt County

7. Addition of New Brokers
Mattie Stepanek said, “Unity is strength; when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” This year, Colorado Group Realty was able to add 10 new agents to our office. Through their excitement, determination and skill sets, we have been able to provide more to our clients and the community.

8. Culture of CGR
Each year, a company reflects on the previous year for the successes and failures. They dive into what they did well and what they could do better. This year, the company grew stronger, laughed harder and found ways to serve our clients and community better through a combined vision

9. Allison Alfone
In November of 2016, Colorado Group Realty added a new role to it’s leadership team, the Director of Operations. The person that we found was a familiar face, Allison Alfone. Allison came to us with many years of experience as a Transaction Coordinator. Through her experience and knowledge of the market, Colorado Group Realty will be able to assist buyers and sellers with a smooth process, from start to finish.

10. Client Appreciation Party
This year, the agents at Colorado Group Realty invited their clients to an event to honor the relationship they have made with them through past, present and future real estate. Agents and clients were able catch up and enjoy one another in the beautiful setting of the Yampa River Botanical Gardens over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
