Savor a taste of Steamboat Springs every Saturday from 9AM-2PM at the downtown Farmers Market. Each week, from June 9th to September 15th, the heady scent of sizzling street food and a diverse range of handmade goods on sale, lure a steady throng of locals and visitors.
The Farmers Market has morphed over 14 years, from a small affair of 12 vendors set up by the courthouse, to a popup village with 130 stalls on Yampa Street – downtown’s riverside gem. Local farmers and artisan producers tout an impressive array of meats, cheeses, breads, fruits, vegetables, jams, sauces and chutneys – all grown or made in Steamboat and the surrounding areas. “You can pretty much do all your grocery shopping for the week, at the market, with the exception of a few things,” says Lisa Popovich of Main Street Steamboat. Foodies can feast on a smorgasbord of local favorites including: gyros from Skull Creek Creek, BBQ sundaes conjured up by Q-Live Crew BBQ and shrimp curry from Marcia and Joe’s Kitchen at Wild Plum.
New this year, Hello Steamboat will be live streaming all of the daily happenings on YouTube and Facebook. Live music will play from 11AM–1PM, interspersed by impromptu performances from We’re Not Clowns, Perry Mansfield Performing Arts Camp and Strings Music Festival. An upto-date listing of performers and weekly activities can be found at www.mainstreetsteamboat.com.
